here before us...

...but they simply gotta go! We usually catch several rattlesnakes a week. The dogs let us know they have spotted one...and we come running with our VERY SPECIAL SNAKE CATCHER given to us by Brett and Jess Booth (new friends who feel like old friends...they live with their dogs [mostly saluki, longdogs, Italian Greyhounds, some I can't remember, and now three aidi] southwest of El Paso, way "off the grid". The snakecatcher is fantasctic and easy to use...but the snakes are getting bigger and heavier and more agressive as the season progresses...I think they are fattening up on lots of desert rodents. I am not so concerned about the older dogs...they seem to know snakes are dangerous...but with little puppies running around it is dangerous not to do something with the snakes.

I'm glad I didn't see any of those critters when I was visiting. As interesting as they are behind a pane of glass at the zoo, I wouldn't want to have a close encounter in real life.
