the non-white ones...

...from top (pictured at seventeen days old): Iferouane, Amaray and Safdar, two of Safdar, Amlal and then two of Amaray. The males Amaray and Safdar and the female Iferouane are available. Please contact me for further information.

the white ones...

...pictures of the two "white" get from the Fasiqqi X Tiraout litter, at fifteen days old. From top: Toumlilt (Tamasheq for "the white one") in the first three photos, who is going to Brett and Jess Booth, TX, and then two photos of Bomboukou (named for a village in the Sahel) who is going to Skye Masson and her fiance' Josh Bauermeister in Atlanta, GA, then a photo of the two siblings together. I am so fascinated by these white puppies! And I am thankful, al hamdullilah, that they are going to people who will use them for breeding, Insh'Allah.

some puppy photos...

...the puppies out of Tawinak (photos 2,4 and 5) are thirteen days old, al hamdullilah, and the puppies out of Tiraout eleven days old, al hamdullilah.

a loss...

I lament for Maike, who passed away this evening. Maike was the beloved wife of Dr. Werner Roeder. I was lucky to have met her, al hamdullilah, if only twice; once as a guest in the Roeder's home in Munich, and once at the annual Azawakh specialty in Lac de la Madine, France. Her love and passion for the Azawakh she so loved was palpable...and she was gracious and charming, even living with the cancer that for the last years of her life challenged and tested her. There should be more Maikes in the world. Maybe one day there will be, Insh'Allah. My thoughts and prayers are with Werner, our Abu Idi. May the days of mourning pass quickly...to be replaced with days of fond memories and acceptance. And peace. Insh'Allah. Maktoub wa al hamdullilah.

Telmousit Al-Ifriqiya...

...who is gone from me but who was a force with whom to be reckoned during her life with us. Telmousit was a daughter of the foundress of one of my main dam lines: Hatshepsut (Sahelian born taidit bred by Ayad ag Inachanan, Tin Akoff, Burkina Faso). Her sire was Debakkar Kel Dahoussahaq, an idi bred by Monika Kessler (Azawakh Kel Dahoussahaq, Switzerland), whom I imported in 1996 (Telmousit's ancestry). The word telmousit is Tamasheq for a small decorative knife carried under the robes of women on their wedding day, its purpose to ward off evil. I named her after a knife because when she was born she was nursing before she was even completely free of the birth canal! I thought to myself, self, that's one strong little critter! Hence, a strong name. I miss her. Maktoub wa al hamdullilah.

some new photos....

...sent to me yesterday by Gionessa Gustafson. Gionessa and her family live near Las Vegas, Nevada, and own Nara Idiiyat-es-Sahel (Tigidit Fasiqqi X Imouyene Idiiyat-es-Sahel) and Ansongo Idiiyat-es-Sahel (Idi Ilaman Afelahlah X Xanandu's Azzat).

Tombouktou's Azawakh...

...is expecting two litters in the coming weeks, Insh'Allah, both out of daughters of Kusaylah (one of the pregnant taidit is a daughter of Kusaylah and Iman...both pictured in this post). Click here for a link to information on these litters. I am very excited and happy for Gabriele who has three Kusaylah daughters in her breeding program.

Robin Punsalan...

...is an artist I met through Terri Portham (see preceeding link). You can learn about her and see examples of her work here and more here.

pictures of Amajar ak Domiko...

...which were sent to me yesterday by Terri Porthan of St. Paul, Minnesota, who purchased Amajar from his breeder Doug Koger (Azawakh ak Domiko). Amajar is out of Afsoon Idiiyat-es-Sahel and is sired by Sheshonq Idiiyat-es-Sahel. Beautiful photos of a beautiful and promising puppy. Forgive me if I sound a bit biased. Terri is also taking Malalai, a red daughter of the litter born here last week out of Tawinak and sired by Fasiqqi. Terri is a good friend of my good friend and client Lilia Berozhkina (Allurehounds) of Delray Beach FL. I posted about Lilia and the taidit she has from me (Tizemt Idiiyat-es-Sahel) in an earlier post. The Azawakh "world" is very small.

Ngozi...

...bred by Kelly Daniels, Clarity Kennels, Orange VA (I believe Kelly has some older Azawakh available at this time). Ngozi is a young male that I have not used yet for breeding. Hopefully he will have his chance the next breeding season, Insh'Allah. Ngozi is sired by Kaisoon Al-Ifriqiya and is out of Azabina, a taidit imported by Kelly from Erika Toender (Ledcameroch Azawakh). Please click here to view Ngozi's ancestry. I also have Ngozi's full sister Noowairah here...but well, she deserves her own post!

Tawzalt Idiiyat-es-Sahel...

...seems to be recovering wonderfully from the broken foot, al hamdullilah! She is owned by Brian Reider and his wife Christie Billingsley in DC. For more photos of Tawzalt's seemingly unbridled exuberance, click here. Photo published with Brian's permission.

what you get...

...when you try to take pictures of four day old puppies. Or at least what I get. The whole shoot was a bust.

new original design for zazzle.com

What else but more "day in the life" photo opps?

...from top: Kidal, Samhan and Djeebo, Djeebo, Hawa, Semteende, Samhan and Mouna. Mouna looks silly but well...its such a break from her "takin' care o' bidniss" attitude...I thought I would include it.
