A blog about preservationist breeding of Azawakh, one of the world's last remaining canine landraces...

my beloved Iman, al hamdullilah...
...Iman Al-Ifriqiya was out of Jana, the only daughter to breed forward from my original pair of Azawakh Reckendahl's Isesi and Al-Hara's Tarada. She was sired by Firhoun who was bred by Gervais Coppe in France, kennel Kel Tarbanassen, and owned by Monika Kessler of Switzerland, kennel Kel Dahoussahaq.
For me, Iman was a unique realization of beauty. She had a desert dryness and at the same time was incredibly feminine. She was named after the Somali born model Iman [an Arabic word meaning "the soul"]). Her line is carried forward by several daughters, grand-daughters, and now great grand-daughters, al hamdullilah.
